What
to plan a trip
to the Victorian High Country next year for 2 weeks.
When is the
best time of year
to visit?
I've heard they close alot for fire season and snow. Is this true?
I've heard the
river crossing and
hill ascent/decent are great fun. Am very excited
to doing this trip.
Thankyou

IMHO the
best time to visit is in November just after the seasonally closed gates are opened.

Yep mid-june
to end october is offical close
time - however much of the hard stuff is not in the
well know big-name tracks but is closer
to melbourne and never gets closed.
Nothing gets closed for fire season unless there is a specific threat
and that has always still left large areas free.
Agree with Pointyhead that if you want high river crossings then go for november/december however if your into general exploring then Jan-april is the way
to go , preferrably out of holiday times.
